Spun cotton is an art form that originated in 19th century Germany. Early spun cotton pieces were usually holiday ornaments that were handmade by wrapping cotton batting around a wire frame and then painting it
I use cotton roving and a glue mixture which I spin around a handmade wire armature. Each layer is allowed to dry before spinning another layer on. When that is complete and dry the painting and details are added and the embellishments are added last. Each piece is created right out of my imagination and is truly one of a kind!
